Theriault To Drive Dunkin' Donunts Entry At Greenville-Pickens

Mooresville, N.C., March 12, 2008:
Michelle Theriault will kick off her 2008 season by competing in Saturday’s NASCAR All American Series event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. The 22-year-old is scheduled to drive the No. 1 Dunkin’ Donuts/B93.7 The Hawk and Tom Show/Five Star Race Car Bodies Chevrolet fielded by Addis Motorsports.

“I love racing at Greenville-Pickens,” said Theriault, who finished eighth in last year’s NASCAR Camping World Series race on the historic half-mile speedway. “It’s bumpy, doesn’t have a lot of grip and really makes you work. It’s my kind of race track.”

Last season, Theriault competed full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Series and in select ARCA RE/MAX Series events. Lacking the proper funding in 2008, Theriault has been forced to pursue other racing opportunities.

“It’s no secret that I want to continue racing in a NASCAR or ARCA touring series but at this point I don’t have enough sponsorship to do it right,” said Theriault. “In the meantime, Dunkin’ Donuts, B93.7 The Hawk and Tom Show, Five Star Race Car Bodies and (team owner) Blair Addis offered me the chance to drive at Greenville-Pickens and it didn’t take long for me to say yes.”

Addis Motorsports has been a fixture at Greenville-Pickens since 1999 when it competed in the Street Stock division. It moved up to the Late Model division in 2002 and claimed its first track championship in 2005.

“We are proud to have a driver of Michelle’s caliber in our car,” said Addis. “She has a solid reputation and is a determined racer. We look forward to working with her.”

Currently, Theriault is only scheduled to compete in Saturday’s race with Addis. After the weekend, the two plan to discuss their future together.

“We only have a one race deal but we’ve already talked about the possibility of extending it further,” said Theriault. “We decided to work together for a weekend before we made any decision. Right now though, my goal is to win.”
