Theriault Adapting Well In Final Nashville Practice
"Female Sensation Feeling Good About Race"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 22, 2007) -- Car owner Jeff Spraker of Spraker Racing Enterprises wasted no time getting female NASCAR Busch East Series driver Michelle Theriault up to pace at the Music City Motorplex (MCMP) during happy hour practice on Sunday afternoon, throwing his newbie driver into qualifying conditions at the drop of the opening practice laps.

Theriault, driver of the No. 37 GLOCK, Inc. performed brilliantly laying down a competitive lap that has the team looking forward to qualifying and the race later today.

Once her two lap-qualifying run was complete, Spraker informed his 21-year old driver to bring in the car and noting it was a "good mockup qualifying lap."

The team was making further adjustments after the initial time trials run to better learn what their Chevrolet Monte Carlo will do during the 150 lap race scheduled tonight.

Theriault asked for an adjustment that would give her additional grip which will allow her to pick up on the throttle exiting the turns. The team acknowledged her request.

The team set their Rookie-of-the-Year candidate back on track looking for a smooth and clean 10-lap run.

During those 10 laps, Theriault posted very strong and consistent lap times but the driver noted that as her car ran the top line, it became loose propelling the team to make another chassis adjustment, so she could become more comfortable with the faster way around the Nashville Fairgrounds.

In her final tango in practice, Theriault once again turned consistent lap times allowing the team to call the session early and begin preparing for tonight’s festivities.

Theriault captured the 18th fastest lap in happy hour after mounting her quickest lap on circuit five of 20.172 seconds. She made 96 left hand turns during her session after running 24 laps.

"I think our qualifying run would have been a little better but we got held up by another car. I am very curious to know what we would of turned if he wasn’t there," offered Theriault.

She continued. "I think we have a really good setup for the race. I think we'll qualify competitively, but our car doesn't fall off that much in race pace, which is bad news for the rest of the competition. I'm really feeling confident about tonight’s race and I look forward to netting my third top-10 finish of the year."

Following the NASCAR Busch East Series race tonight, Theriault will spend Monday doing some consulting with her team and relaxing before heading to Lebanon, Tennessee on Tuesday, July 24th to test her No. 37 GLOCK, Inc. ARCA RE/MAX Series automobile at Nashville Superspeedway in preparation for the TOYOTA ARCA 150 at the 1.333-mile speed plant next month.

The Music City 150 presented by Coyote Ugly (150 laps/89.40 miles) is the eighth of 14 events on the 2007 NASCAR Busch East Series schedule. Qualifying is set for later today commencing at 5:00pm Local Time. The green flag will waive later in the evening shortly after 7:00 pm Local Time.
